American Indians live in the U.S. and remain an
unreached people group.
The U.S. Center for World Missions classifies a people group as "unreached" if they do not have a culturally relevant church that is capable of reaching the group without assistance.
In Minneapolis less than 1.5% of the 14,000 Native
American Indian population attend church.

Alcoholism &
Homelessness...
Over 10% of the 14,000
Native American Indians who live in Hennepin County are
homeless. Approximately 150 are chronic alcoholics.

The Need...
Since 1990 over 65 homeless chronic alcoholic American Indians died tragic deaths on
the streets of Minneapolis.
The age-adjusted death rates for the
following causes were considerably higher than those for the U.S. all
races population.
Alcoholism - 579 percent greater
Tuberculosis - 475 percent greater
Diabetes - 231 percent greater
Accidents - 212 percent greater
Suicide - 70 percent greater |
