of the Ministry
As the only native led outreach ministry in the region
Overcomer's is called on frequently by organizations and churches seeking information on Indian ministry. Developing necessary programs such as housing and chemical dependency require considerable resource and staff; currently the Thayers and a few volunteers handle ministry tasks. The budget of
Overcomer's Ministry has grown from $16,000 in 1995 to an annual need of $150,000 (not including special projects.) In 2000 $100,000 was raised to carry out ministry functions. The following are current needs for
Overcomer's:
- General operating support for year 2001 approximately $80,000
- "On Eagles Wings" apartments approximately $350,000 to help off-set the Wallestad Foundation commitment to finance the project.
- First Nation Christian
Recovery Program - Planning, development and initial start-up $75,000
- Mishkeegogamang Reserve Ministry Center Project - July 2001 - $80,000
- One
administrative staff position - $25,000 includes benefit package.
- Two axle trailer for 15 passenger van - Approximately $3,5000
- Annual maintenance for 47 passenger coach bus - approximately $6,000
- Promotional materials: Brochure and video - approximately $15,000
- Volunteers to assist with follow-up, visitation, and special events.
- Volunteers experienced in production of a monthly newsletter.
